Financial assistance for children with disabilities

An additional allowance for children with disabilities may be granted to children affected by a disability. This money is used to pay the additional costs resulting from the child’s disability.
The value of the additional allowance for children with disabilities is the sum defined in the Family Benefits Scale.

Conditions to be fulfilled:

  • the physical or mental capacity of the child is diminished by at least 50% (this level is established by a doctor);

  • the child is under 18 years old (in some cases the allowance may be paid beyond 18 years).

How to apply for this allowance?

If you are the parent of a child who is entitled to this additional allowance, you can contact (by telephone or by post) the Caisse national des Prestations familiales (National Fund for Family Benefits - CNPF)  and request an application form. After filling in this form, send it to the Caisse nationale des Prestations Familiales. You must enclose a recent medical certificate indicating the child’s degree of disability.
